10/24/14 Update,, Donna and I went back to the South Rim... wanted to look over the area since we really did not get a chance last time we were here and did the walk. Hopefully some of these pics will give you a better look at the trails, switch backs. We took a bus over to the Trail over view to get most of the pictures.

 

 

First thing you see in this pic are some of the trails coming up Bright Angel, look in the middle and you can see Indian Garden,, you then can follow the fault line (Bright Angel) to the North Rim, the start of the South Kaibab trail starts behind the ledge 45 degree. Lodge of the South Rim is on the top of the Rim to the left of the 45degree ledge and on the top of course. Next pic shows Indian Garden

I might have not done this if I would have saw all these trails haha... no not really, just really gives you a view of how truly amazing this walk is....
